This set appears to be never used. They belonged to my grandparents and I inherited them about 30 years ago. They have only been out of the box to show them off. I see these knives being referred to as "Butter Knives", "Tea Knives" or "Desert Knives" - whatever they are, they are beautiful. My grandmother was born in London and my family still has many relatives there. Grandma traveled back to England often, and always came back with English made items like these. She almost never actually used any of it. I have researched the value of this set, and am willing to let them go for a reasonable price. I have seen these knives priced at $30 - $50 EACH (including an Ebay listing right now) Please note, the condition of these knives is near mint. I'm certain that they were never used. Any minor imperfections are just from handeling and time. The Royal Blue color on the handles looks pretty black in my photos. The other handle colors are Gold, White and Cinnamon. The storage box is a bit worn, but fully intact. Unfortunately, someone wrote "knives" on one side of the box (as pictured) Please "Google" Imari Royal Crown Derby for details on this design and it's history. I am going to assume that anyone looking at this auction is already much more familiar with this set than I am, but if not, I have found plenty to read on the internet. read more
