Item Description A beautiful vintage tea trio (cup, saucer and plate) in the ‘Traditional Imari’ pattern (#2451) by Royal Crown Derby. Please note that the colour which appears black in my pictures is actually a lovely rich cobalt blue! Approximate Size Cup ~ 2” deep and about 3 ⅜” in diameter at the rim. Saucer ~ 5 ¼” in diameter and just under 1” deep. Tea Plate ~ just over 6 ⅛” in diameter. Condition Excellent ~ no chips, cracks, scratches or other signs of damage. There is a little minor wear to the gilding on the bottom of the cup handle (but none apparent elsewhere), a small dark coloured dot inside the cup (which is as made) and, on close inspection, just a few very minor utensil marks on the saucer from where the cup has been placed on it and which do not detract from it. Maker’s Marks The Royal Crown Derby mark on each of the pieces is shown in the pictures ~ the mark on the cup is top left, saucer plate is top right and saucer is at the bottom. Age The date cypher is for 1919 on both the cup and saucer and the plate is dated 1928.
