Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Royal Doulton, 1920's - "Syren" pattern - 11.5" "Art Deco" Design Divided Dish. D5102 - Discontinued in 1931. EXCELLENT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE! This bold and exotic dish is in eccellent if condition and I suspect has rarely been used, t is a faint overall crazing but this is very minor and does not detract in the least. The dish is done in Royal Doulton's popular "Syren" pattern, discontinued in 1931, designed as a 11.5" three section divided dish featuring green ribbed accents and a bold Art Deco pattern of brilliant oranges, yellows and cobalt blues on a deep ivory colored background. The dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage or fading, no repairs or restorations only the above mentioned faint crazing. I would safely guess that the dish dates from the late 1920's. The dish is marked on the bottom with the familiar Royal Doulton lion mark, Bone China, Made in England, the name of the pattern, "Syren" and the number -D5102-. I'm not that familiar with English porcelains, the marks are shown and I'm sure the Doulton collectors will be able to put an exact date on the dish, if you have any information about the marks please feel free to e-mail. Royal Doulton has always been known for fine quality porcelains and this delightful and enchanting read more
