Afternoon Tea was designed by P Railston for Royal Doulton. Figure was in production from 1955 to 1982. Afternoon Tea is 5 3/4" in height, 7" in length and 4 1/2" in width. Figure is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazings or restorations. Afternoon Tea HN # is in script and signed by artist "E. J.". Figure depicts two lovely ladies sitting on a settee having tea on a white table clothe trimmed in pink. The table they are seated aroung has two tea cups and saucers, a teapot and a creamer plus a plate of fruits (pears, green apple and purple grapes). The detail of this figure is simply amazing. What a tribute to the Royal Doulton artisans of the last century. The beautiful lady on the left has auburn hair and is wearing a white mob-cap with a pink bow. Her top is light blue and her skirt has purple and yellow flowered prints in minute detail. The other beautiful young lady on the right who also has auburn hair has on a poke-bonnet with blue ribbon and is wearing a green half cape. Her dress is pink in color with a ruffled bottom. One looking at this wonderful figure is probably trying to guess what these two young ladies are chitchatting about. USPS Priority Mail + Insurance is $8.00. Overseas Air Post is $15.00.
