This large-sized FIRST QUALITY pristine one owner two-headed Royal Doulton character jug of Napoleon and Josephine was issued in 1986 as a special edition with Doulton identifier D6750 in the large size 7 inches high. The piece has always been displayed in a smoke-free environment at constant room temperature to prevent crazing. The jug was designed by Michael Abberley. This is a very rarely auctioned piece that is not just exquisitely done but likely to hold value for years to come. Buying top-quality jugs that are in demand is not like buying a consumable item. The special ones tend to gain in value. Meanwhile you have the joy of owning and decorating your home with a very beautiful eye-catching piece. The seller/collector of this jug has displayed his collection for years but is slowly selling off the pieces due to growing old and a need to downsize over the next 10 years. Over the years the owner of DOULTONANDMORE has observed that the one thing noticed the most by visitors in his home is the jug collection. T truly is no better collectible for display in the world. Stamps and coins do not decorate your home. To see the owner's collection visit w you will find several pictures of his collection. Good luck. Happy collecting. The Charlton Guide describes the jug as follows: Napoleon (1769-1821) stood only 5 feet 2 inches tall, but he was a military genius who amassed an empire that covered most of western and central Europe. Josephine (1763-1814) married him in 1796, after her first husband, the Vicomte de Beauharnais, was killed during the French Revolution. Unable to produce an heir, Napoleon divorced Josephine in 1809 to marry a younger woman. NOTE: Payment may be made by money order, personal check, Paypal, cash or any other reasonable means. Packaging is always free at DOULTONANDMORE. Fragile items are always carefully double-boxed and sometimes triple-boxed with copious amounts of filler material to ensure against physical damage in shipping. Shipping in the US is usually done by USPS parcel post or Priority mail and runs between 6 and 12 dollars depending on w the jug is shipped and whether insurance is desired. Charges for international shipping is done on a case by case depending on w it is to be sent. Insurance is optional at a charge to buyer.
