Royal Doulton China Glamis Thistle Dessert Service for 6 Cup & Saucer Cake Plate The price is for this beautiful china dessert/ luncheon service for six made by Royal Doulton in the Glamis Thistle / H4601 pattern. The Glamis Thistle pattern, produced between 1937 and 1961, features very detailed purple/ lavender flowers with delicate leaves and buds on a white china background accented by a green rim band and gold trim. This beautiful set includes six footed cup and saucer sets, six dessert plates, a handled cake/ torte plate, a creamer (possibly a sauce pitcher) and an oval cranberry bowl (can be used as an open sugar bowl). The bottoms are ink stamped. I took photographs with and without the flash trying to capture the beauty and condition of this set for your careful consideration. Please refer to the photographs. The measurements of this Royal Doulton oval cranberry bowl/ open oval sugar bowl are: 2 1/2 inch rim height: 4 7/8 inch rim length: 3 3/4 inch rim width. The measurements of this rarely found shaped Royal Doulton creamer are: 8 ounce capacity: 3 7/8 inch spout height: 5 7/8 inch length spout through handle. The measurements of these six Royal Doulton Glamis Thistle footed cups are: 7 ounce capacity: 2 3/4 inch rim height: 3 1/2 inch rim diameter. The six matching saucers have a 5 1/2 inch diameter.
