DESCRIPTION : ANTIQUE . Rich, dark red color with black details. NOTE: Actual color is more blue-red than photos show. 5-1/2 inches high, 7-1/2 inches long. MARKINGS : (See photos) "Made in England Royal Doulton Flambe England" Backstamp was in use from 1902-1956. Crowned lion atop larger, 5-peaked crown; short curved lines between "Royal Doulton" and "England"; center medallion of quatrefoil with grid of squares. Handwritten initials beside backstamp; looks like "OGK". Number "489" inscribed on bottom of left front foot. CONDITION : Very Good (VG, 7) Two imperfections : (see photo 3) Chip off end of left tusk, has been smoothed. Aberration along edge of trunk. This is not a chip, as it is smooth and shiny, and is raised above the surface. It appears original to me, like a manufacturing glitch in the glass-like coating. Visible only on close inspection : One small, curved, hair-thin
