ROYAL DOULTON Tiffany New York Plate Magnificent Hand Painted Bird plate Magnificent Royal Doulton plate Chelsea type bird in the center & a border with four medallion of Chelsea birds with cobalt blue and gilt scroll border . The plate was made for Tiffany's New York. The plate is signed E.Percy which was a nom de plume of two artist at the Burslem studio - Percy Curnock & Edwin Wood They used the name when they worked on pieces that were not totally hand painted. There is a combination of free hand painting and trannfer. The bird is beautifully colored & detailed by hand. Beautiful gilt work in the borders. It is 10" in diameter, the size of a dinner plate. Marked with Royal Doulton mark from the early 1920's and Tiffany's New York for whom it was made. It is mint and appear unused with no surface scratched and crazing.
