I just purchased a large service of Royal Doulton English china at an estate sale here in Central Virginia. The pattern is "TONKIN" or GREEN INDIAN TREE, TC1107. This auction is for a SET of four (4) place settings or 20 pieces. Royal Doulton produced this discontinued pattern between 1975-1992. It features a cream background with soft greens and mauves. The oriental inspired pattern has a green inner band surrounding the center tree and floral motif circling the outer edge. The place settings include a dinner plate, salad plate, bread and butter plate and cup and saucer. The pieces are in excellent condition, without chips, cracks, crazing, scratches or stains and they don't appear to have been used. They have the Royal Douton logo on the backs with the pattern name and number, MADE IN ENGLAND and 1974. The dinner plate is 10 1/2" in diameter, the cup is 3" in height, the saucer is 6", the bread and butter plate is 6 1/2", the salad plate is 8". This set of 4 place settings would make a nice addition to any service of Royal Doulton TONKIN china or a great starter set. I do have another 4 pc. place setting to offer the high bidder.
