It is made of yellow clay with tiny dark grains in it. The beautiful Arts and Crafts Polychrome design is reminiscent of William Morris, with leaves, vines and foliage and a crest with an eagle with its foot on a shield. The colors are black, blue, green, white and pink. A motto around the middle reads "Better Late Than Never". T is a clear shiny glaze over it all. It may have been made for a specific special occasion. The mark on the bottom is the Royal Doulton mark that dates from 1902-1922. It is printed in red under the glaze. Size: 9" tall, 6 1/8" wide. Condition: Good, t is a flat chip that has been partly reattached along the bottom edge on the side and another chip underneath and next to it, (see the last two thumbnail photos for detail) this would be a very easy repair. The chipped area does not go through to the inside. T is no other damage or wear except for some expected fine crazing that cannot be seen without a loupe. I have never seen this kind of Doulton ware before so please view all the photos so you can evaluate the piece. I will not be responsible for something I may have accidentally omitted in read more
