I am selling this Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) Helmet. My grandfather was a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) from the early 1930’s' - 22 years old to the 1960’s when he retired.Grandfather was given this helmet by his brother in law in the late 1920’s before he joined the Police, he had been very interested in joining the force. His brother in law was already in the RUC and based in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. He was emigrating and was unable to take many belongings with him so he gifted the helmet to my grandfather. Unfortunately I don’t know how my Great Uncle acquired it in the first place.I can be precise about the age but the RIC was formed in 1836 and disbanded in 1922. It has always been in the family.RIC Wikipedia:http://en./wiki/Royal_Irish_Constabulary Any questions please ask (apart from if I have a buy it now price, it is an auction sale) I tried to revise to sell internationally but this failed due to eBay sale T&C's, so it is UK only (I can't even sell it to a ROI bidder): "Some countries restrict, for example, exportation of certain artefacts and antiques that are considered as part of a national heritage" Two bidders have retracted today. One with no explanation another explained that his / her daughter had been playing on iPad and bid. If you have any questions please ask.
