German Royal Rudolstadt Vase This is an original and authentic Rudolstadt porcelain Vase / Urn. It is beige with hand-painted morning glories and vines with very decorative double gold gilt handles. Made in Thuringia, Germany. As best as I can tell, this piece likely dates back to around 1890-1910 - I've seen similar pieces listed with similar patterns and design dated at 1895. The bottom of the vase is marked with the blue RW Rudolstadt seal with the word 'Germany' above it. The number '72' is stamped next to it in red. Impressed into the ceramic on the side of the bottom are the numbers 6153 and 12. The piece is in great condition - a couple of marks on the back and some fading of the gold on the tips of the handles (which seems to be quite common on these pieces), as well as most of the gold faded from the mouth. T are some areas w the beige looks more light peach - and I can't tell if it's intended that way or not. It stands almost 11" tall, and the base is 4" wide and 6" at it's widest point. The mouth has a 2 3/4" opening. It weighs 1 lb 14 oz. T are no noticeable chips, cracks or lines in the piece. Very beautiful.
