In 1678 three independent troops of Scots Dragoons were raised to form The Royal Regiment of Scots Dragoons, and were all mounted on grey horses, and was referred to at this time as the Grey Dragoons. In 1707 was named The Royal North British Dragoons(but were being referred to as Scots Dragoons) and was renamed in 1713 as the 2nd Dragoons. In 1877 the nickname was finally made offical, and became The Royal Scots Greys(2nd Dragoons) and kept this title until 1971 when they amalgamated with the3rd Carbiniers.Motto-Nemo me impune lacessit(Nobody touches me with impunity)Nickname-The BirdcatchersThis badge I think is a pouch badge(Perhaps someone out there could let me know exactly what kind of badge this is) I believe it is made of silver(no marks as such), so it is more than likely an officer's badge. It has three eyelet fasteners to the rear(East,West & South) in good order, complete with a split pin.I will combine postage & packaging charges on multiple orders.I
