England LARGE Pitcher Circa 1910This is a stunning example of a Large Pitcher produced by the Royal Staffordshire Pottery (A. J. Wilkinson) and dating to the first quarter of the 20th century. It is Excellent Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, and No Crazing. There is wear to the gold trim accents (SEE pictures), and a few spots where the pink glaze did not adhere (SEE picture with pointer). The transfer work on this Staffordshire Pitcher features a intricately portrayed scene of a oriental garden complete with Pagodas, Trees, Flowers, and a Bridge over a lovely pond with swirling blue water. The bottom third of the pitcher has a medium pink glaze. The colors are just beautiful on this Antique piece and include various shades of blue, green, orange, yellow, purple, beige, and of course pink. This is a Large pitcher standing 10 1/4" Tall x 10" Wide Spout to Handle and weighs almost 4 pounds. The base is transfer printed with the makers mark, which reads 'ROYAL STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY WILKINSON LTD ENGLAND'. This mark was in use after 1910 and was replaced by 1930 with another design. This Royal Staffordshire Pottery Pitcher has a lot of presence and charm and would easily double as a very attractive and unique vase. The read more
