Fine Serving Piece to Complete Your Service Royal Swirl China Coffee Server with Cover Near Mint Condition! Welcome to our auction! you're bidding on a single coffee server with lid from the Royal Swirl pattern of fine Japanese china. This pattern had a wide distribution in the 1970s, much of it through grocery stores w the basic place settings were offered as weekly specials. The more expensive serving pieces were not usually offered at promotional prices and tfore were less popular. For that reason they're much harder to find today. This coffee pot stands about 9" tall to the top of the lid and measures about 9-1/2" from handle to spout. We've examined it closely and can find no flaws. It's free from any chips, cracks, crazing, or discoloration. The floral transfer decorative pattern is bright and crisp, the applied gold shows no wear, and its glaze is mirrorlike and evenly applied. The original owner has applied a clear plastic "spout protector" to keep from chipping the spout during use, but we really don't think this pot was ever used judging from its appearance. That protector can be removed, by the way, if you prefer not to have it. A little hot water will allow it to slide right off.
