FINE ANTIQUE ROYAL VIENNA CYLINDER VASE, "PSYCHE OUM WASSER," ARTIST-SIGNED (TSCHIEDEL) WITH CHERUBS This auction features a fine antique Royal Vienna cylinder vase, marked with the blue beehive mark (actually, a shield, but known commonly as a beehive mark) with a hand-painted and signed portrait of Psyche by the water on one side and two cherubs on the reverse. The vase is beautifully gilded and has a burgundy base with gilt decoration. The rim of the vase is pierced in two places and has applied gilted details on either side of the center portrait, which is signed Tschiedel in the lower center left. This vase is 6-3/8" tall and 1-1/2" in diameter at the rim with a slightly flaring base. It's an exquisite piece for your fine porcelains collection. Made in Vienna, this piece dates to a period between 1877 and 1890 and was decorated, I believe, by the Radler & Pilz studio. It is titled and marked with the blue beehive mark underfoot and hand numbered, in rust colored paint, 24316. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to this little treasure.
