Royal Vienna 19th Century Handpainted Porcelain Large Roayl Portrait Vase, Signed by famous artist F.Tenner. 14-1/4" Tall x 5-1/2" Diameter, tapering to 3-1/2" Diameter at Base. Royal Vienna hand-painted Portrait vase depicting the bust of a young brunette beauty, Elisabeth de France (1602 - 1644). Renowned for her beauty, intelligence and noble personality she was the eldest daughter of King Henry IV of France. Extremely well done with subtle but vibrant colors and strict attention to detail. Enameled highlights accent her collar and gown, with a gold gilt crest on reverse exhibiting no loss, and accented with gold gilt butterflies. This example shows some wear at gold gilt rims at top and bottom. We do see some light scuffing but without any flakes, chips, breaks or repairs. As you can see someone a long time ago made the mistake of drilling the bottom for conversion to a lamp. Signed F. Tenner, 1873 (1843?), with early Vienna mark and the remains of original labeling. A stunning example of an artisan at his best. Seen elsew, without lamp hole, selling upwards of $5,000.00. We're fortunate to begin this one with a low start, lady who owned it moving into retirement home. Please let us know if you have specific questions or require additional images. As always, we are happy to assist in any way, this artwork is some of the finest we have seen on porcelain!
