This is a large vintage Grimwades Royal Winton musical tankard that is hand painted. On the front of the tankard is Phil the Fluter looking as though he is having a great time with people dancing all around him, plus a happy looking pink pig! On the reverse of the tankard is a woman in a two wheel buggy who looks as though she is on her way to the celebrations. Within the base is a Thorens Swiss musical movement that plays smoothly and clearly when the tankard is lifted and stops when it is placed down. The mug stands 6.1" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and just some light crazing. The musical movement was removed to show the Royal Winton mark and then lightly lubricated before replacing it. The movement plays the correct song, 'Phil the Fluter's Ball'.
