Set of 2 Royal Worcester Golden Crowned Kinglet Birds by Dorothy Doughty This is a vintage set of 2 Royal Worcester Porcelain Golden Crowned Kinglet Birds by Dorothy Doughty. Each bird comes in a seperate display case. On the bottom of both porcelain figurines are the Royal Worcester logo as well as Dorothy Doughty's signature engraved on it. Each one is in great condition as seen in the photos. It does appear that a few of the small pine needles may have broken off, however it is not very noticable as shown in the images . In the Royal Worcester printing on the bottom of the birds is the year 1951, however I am not sure if that is the year these were made. What I do know, is that these sculptures were made some time between 1933 and 1960 as that is those are the years Dorothy Doughty produced her figurines. She died in 1962. Each bird measures 7.75 inches high and 4 inches wide. Each display case measures 12 inches high and 8 inches wide. This set is very hard to find. Every once in a while you will see one bird up for auction, but you rarely see a complete set of both birds. The were only two other sets of these Golden Crowned Kinglet Birds that I have ever seen up for auction. One sold for close to $2000 and one for close to $1400.
