for sale a remarkable reticulated cup and saucer. it has a date code for 1889 or 1890 so owen probably did not sign at that time since worcester did not allow signatures until 1900 or so. at any rate, i can not be sure would did the cup and saucer, but the intricate gilding is suggestive of owen. regardless of who did it,it is fantastic. saucer finely reticulated and gilded. cup is in a likewise fashion is superbly done. i tried to get a picture with a light behind it on the cup. it did not show up, but when you hold a light behind the cup and look inside you can of course see the reticulations, quite a sight to behold. the pictures are not very good. the gilding and paste work is just outstanding. t are initials or number in red on both the cup and saucer off near the rim edges. i can't make out what they are, could be artist or something like that. if anyone knows what it is, i would appreciate the information. if you would like additional pictures, i will be glad to supply them. i am not a very good photographer however. both cup and suacer have the same date codes and numbers on the bottoms. i find no damages or loss of the finely applied gold. the set is as near mint condition as one could expect. saucer is a bit under 4.25 inches in diameter, the cup is less than 2.25 at the top and just at 2 inches tall. i have never seen a reticulated cup and saucer before. i know several were made but i have never come across but this one. sticker shows what i paid quite some time ago. hopefully someone will buy it and enjoy it as much as i have. good luck
