Fabulous antique Royal Worcester pot pourri featuring finely reticulated, or pierced, body and lid, with turquoise jewels and gilt trim on a matte blush ground, in a 9 sided pumpkin type pushed out shape. Has Grainger & Co. mark under with date letter for 1901. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, no wear to gilding, no damage to jewels (some 720 or so), although what can be seen are very faint lines on the thinest part of the top of the shelf that supports the lid (see photo) of which t are four. I am of the opinion that they are factory blemishes due to firing such a fragile design, and I can't see how they could be due to impact without having caused visable damage to the top of the shelf, the shelf walls, or the lid. These lines are barely visable without very close inspection when looking down with the lid off, and are not visable at all with lid on. Standing 7-1/4" tall by 5-1/2" max. diameter, this is truly a spectacular example hand decorated porcelain manufacture.
