RARE ROYAL WORCESTER Handpainted FruitUrn by Royal Worcester Artist JOHN FREEMAN, dated 1963. A piece same size, shape and decoration was sold on EBay for $1499 . This has been in my Worcester collection for a number of years. The Royal Worcester fruit painters. Through out the history of Royal Worcester there have been many highly skilled artists but at no time was this more evident than with the talented and exciting group ofpainters assembled there in the 1920s. The likes of Reginald(Harry) Austin and his brother Walter Austin, Harry Ayrton and William Bagnall, John Freeman and Thomas Lockyer,George Moseley, William Bee, Horace Price, William Ricketts and the superb Richard Sebright, together with Shuck, Townsend and Twilton, provided RoyalWorcester with a pool of extra ordinary talent. All that talent under the foremanship of the renowned William Hawkins has not been matched at anyother time or by any other porcelain works since.
