Up for auction is a dark brown pottery jug which has an impressed mark on the base "The Roycroft Shops, East Aurora, NY". The Roycrofters made these syrup jugs in various shades of brown and, rarely, some pastels. This was produced approximately 1915 and is pure Arts & Crafts in styling.The jug measures 5" H x 3-1/2" Diam. at the widest point. The condition is rated as excellent since t are no chips, nicks, cracks, hairlines, age-crazing or repairs. The impressed mark on the base is extra crisp and decipherable. All of these jugs were somewhat roughly made with minor imperfections which are original to the pieces. Good luck and happy bidding! Shipping will be as shown for those living in USA48.
