ART WITH SOUL
Rs Lang Stoneware Butter KeeperThanks for viewing one of my auctions ! I just finished a new batch of butter keepers and am offering about 12 different glaze colors on eBay. I have some new ones so please check my other auctions or take a look at my new "eBay Store". I have now sent butter keepers to 44 states and have lots of satisfied customers! The Georg Jensen butter knife is not included in the sale ! This auction is for a butter keeper I made that has a cool satin matte light blue glaze. These are also called "French Butter Keepers" or "Butter Bells". My butter keepers are larger than most you will find ! They hold 1 cup or 2 sticks of butter. They are easy to set upside down and serve from. They really work and are beautiful as well ! You place your butter or margarine in the deep well on the top of the jar and fill the base with enough cold water to surround the top when it's placed back on the base. It will hold 1 cup or 2 sticks of butter. The butter will stay at a nice spreading consistency without falling out and you can keep it on your counter or table. I make the top flat so you just set it upside down and use it on the table as a serving dish. Change the water every 2 - 3 days. It's nice to have butter that isn't rock hard or soft and runny ! We have used one year round and it works Summer and Winter ! This piece is thrown on my potter's wheel and high fired. Great for your studio pottery collection and very functional as well. It is in perfect new condition and measures approximately 4" tall x 4" wide. I have been a studio potter for over 30 years. My work has been shown in many National art shows and I sell to galleries in the US. You can find me at or the vasefinder website which is a great reference for classical American ceramics. My business, RS Lang Art Pottery, is located in Alfred, NY. I am a graduate of the NYS College of Ceramics School of Art and Design at Alfred University. Way back in 1973 ! My ceramics teachers were Robert Turner, Val Cushing, William Parry, and Daniel Rhodes. All my work is food safe, lead free, dishwasher / microwave safe. I am only auctioning my gallery quality work, and not seconds or pieces with flaws. I try for very clean and elegant work. I like simple forms and subtle glazes that don't glare at you ! I sign every piece " Rs Lang", (for Richard Lang) and my signature is fired on. I formulate all of my own glazes and don't use any commercial stuff ! All my pots come out a bit different which is part of the beauty of handmade art pottery. The piece pictured is a sample of the one you will win done in the same glaze. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and I will refund your money if you are not happy with your purchase. I am offering this piece at a starting price much lower than my retail price. Hope you like it ! Also check my "Other Items" to see if I have some more pots on eBay now . Please use the shipping calculator on this auction page to figure your shipping cost. This item ships at 2 - 3 pounds. Good Luck and please email with any questions.
