Charming and enchanting, authentic antique creamer and sugar bowl set, this is some of the most ornate Victorian china you will ever find. This is R.S. Steeple Mold 14; which has a highly scalloped rim, four fancy feet, the handles are very ornate, and it has 3 reticulated holes near the bottom, off to one side. Items with this mold also have an 'extra' flourish, such as you see on the side of the creamer, opposite of the handle. The porcelain is so thin, you can see right through it with only lamplight, no need to hold them up to a sunny window! If you collect RS Prussia related items, you will be thrilled with this extraordinary set. The swirled mold has pink and white colors, the flowers appear to be pink and white parrot tulips with pale green leaves and tiny white enamel dots that resembles baby's breath. This creamer and sugar bowl set can be seen the "Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia - Fourth Series" by Mary Frank Gaston, on page 50, plate 134. The set in the book is unmarked. Usually, an item's value is higher if it is marked, as these are. SIZES: The sugar bowl, including finial on lid, is 4 3/4" high, and measures 5 3/4" across handles. The creamer is 3 3/4" high at the spout, and is 4 7/8" across from spout to handle. MARKS: Both pieces are marked in red with the steeple mark, R.S. Germany, as pictured. CONDITION: read more
