The badges are normally sold at RSPB Reserves of which there are more than 150 in all parts of the country and at events, fairs, exhibitions etc. In the last 15 years, hundreds of different patterns of badge have been issued and the range extended to include mammals, insects, marine life, flowers as well as the ever popular birds. Some badges have been reissued regularly over the years whilst others were only available for a short time, collectors obviously seeking out the rarer and older examples.The badges are typically sold on a card measuring approximately 60mm x 35 mm (1.3 inch x 2.4 inch), the design of which has changed regularly over the years.
