Almost ALL OF OUR ITEMS ARE USED. We indicate vintage or antique. That means they are not NEW, they have been used. Our scale of condition: EXCELLENT, indicating as new but not quite perfect, and if t is an imperfection it will be noted. I KEEP GETTING QUESTIONS ON THIS CATEGORY. SO I REPEAT, EXCELLENT MEANS EXCELLENT AND ONLY IF T IS SLIGHT DAMAGE WILL IT BE NOTED, OTHERWISE, IT MEANS T IS NONE. I RARELY USE MINT. These are old items and nothing is perfect. If you want perfect, buy it new. I hope this is CLEAR. Nothing is ever perfect. AS NEW is used more for clothing, sometimes gently used, meaning it has been worn but looks new. VERY GOOD condition means t are some condition problems and they are explained and GOOD implies t are more serious condition problems. We do occasionally sell NEW items and they are marked NEW or NIB meaning New in Box. This means they are new, never used. PLEASE USE POSTAGE CALCULATOR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUCTION PAGE. CALCULATES BOTH DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE. These figures were created for the Rudolf Kammer porcelain factory by Christel Kammer. They are all related to Napoleonic times (and one is a figure of that Emperor). All with the same crowned K blue backstamp. They sell for approximately 300 Euro and are offered at an excellent price. Prince Józef Antoni Poniatowski was born in Vienna , Austria in the Palais Kinsky (others say he was actually born in Warsaw ), the son of Andrzej Poniatowski , brother of the last king of Poland StanisÅ,aw August Poniatowski and a field marshal in Austrian service. His mother was Tsia von Kinsky , a lady from the court of Maria Tsa and from the Czech -Austrian aristocratic family. His father died when Józef was 10, StanisÅ,aw August then became his guardian and the two enjoyed a close personal relationship that lasted for the duration of their common life span. Maria Tsa was a godmother of Józef's older sister, who was named Maria Teresa, after the Empress. Józef was born and raised in Vienna, but was also spending time with his mother in Prague and later with his uncle the king in Warsaw . Brought up in the "ancient regime" society, he early learned to be fluent in French (in fact that's how he talked with his mother), as well as in Polish and German . From the childhood years Prince Pepi (so called from the Czech diminutive form of Joseph) was trained for the military service, but also learned how to play keyboard instruments and had a portable one carried for him later even during military campaigns. It was because of StanisÅ,aw August's influence that Poniatowski chose to consider himself a Pole, even though he transferred to the Polish army only at the age of 26. In Vienna, he represented the Polish king at the funeral of Maria Tsa. In 1787 went with StanisÅ,aw August to Kaniov and Kiev , to meet with Catherine the Great .Figurine is in overall excellent condition, t is a shallow 1/8"-1/4" small chip on the back upper fold at the edge of the cape right side, 7.5" high.
