-Ethnic Oil on Board by Rudolfo Novelli- Up for auction is this fascinating, ethnic-looking oil on board painting by Rudolfo Novelli. He was born in Italy and later on lived in New York, working mainly in the United States. This painting of his appears to depict the scene of an ethnic performance, with two figures standing on pedestals, dressed in costumes or cultural dress with puppets or monkeys at their feet. This work is in very good condition, and is just ever so slightly dirty near the edges and corners. The surface is thick and textured, and has no damage. R. Novelli's signature is at the lower right hand corner. This painting measures 11.5 by 13 inches and the frame dimensions are 17 by 19 inches.
