LARGE VINTAGE RUSHBROOKE SMITHFIELD KNIFE SHARPENING STEEL Here is a large vintage Butchers knife sharpening steel made by Rushbrooke, Smithfield. It is fitted with a brass ferrule hardwood handle with a swivel hanging ring. Marked Rushbrooke Smithfield at the beginning of the blade as you can see in the picture. It measures 20.25 inches in length plus the hanging ring. There are marks and pitting to the handle commensurate with age and some pitting to the blade. Its in lovely condition really for the age and a great tactile item. Any questions just email and I will try to help. It is fitted with a brass ferruled, Hardwood handle, & there is a swivel hanging ring. It is marked “Rushbrooke, Smithfield”. It measures approx. 20 ¼” overall plus the hanging ring. There is a burn / scorch mark on the handle (see photo), & a little pitting / tarnish to the steel, all commensurate with a working life; otherwise it is in lovely condition for its age.
