Description

1980 Russian Olympic Commemorative Set

1976 Mint Set from Leningrad

and 1980 Olympic Stamp Program Booklet

This auction is for a fairly hard to find set. It was issued by Russia to commemorate the 1980 Olympics and contains BOTH stamps and coins. According to the COA (included) the stamps are for the 1980 Games and the 1976 mint coin set was included due to its increasing popularity and as examples of national coinage and are important pre-Olympic commemoratives from the host country (USSR). The coin set is sealed in a hard plastic case and contains a token stating that they were minted at the Goznak Mint in Leningrad . The set features the HTF 20 Kopek coin. There are nine (9) stamps in the booklet - 1 honors the Olympic torch and 8 feature different Olympic events - wrestling, gymnastics, swimming, etc. Beautiful set.
