You are bidding on a genuine Russian coin struck during the occupation of Moldavia and Wallachia in 1772. The medal used for these coins was from captured Turkish cannons.During the Russian-Turkish war (1768-1774), ended with the Kuciuk-Kainargi peace treaty, P. A. Rumeantzev, the commander in chief of the Russian army in Moldavian and Wallachia took measures to enhance the economic and monetary system in the principalities. So, a mint was established in Sadagura, near Cernowitz by the adventurer baron Nicolaus Gartenberg. In the mint were struck coins for both Principalities which had the nominal value both in Turkish and Russian curency. Initially, in 1771 were struck some patterns with the monogram of Catherine II of Russia, and later the official model was approved, which had only the arms of the two Principalities. You will receive the exact coin from the pictures. Worldwide shipping by registered air mail $4!
