The central image depicts Christ Emmanuel. The Isaiah's prophesy is the source of this icon that depicts Our Lord as a Child: "Tfore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Emmanuel". (Is 7:14 ). The word Emmanuel means: God is with us. Savior Emmanuel is usually depicted as a part of the icon "Mother of God of the Sign".

Saint Archstrateg of the Bodiless Powers Archangel Michael is depicted above. He holds in each hand the inscription: "Holy". The feast of the Council of Archstrateg Michael and other Bodiless Heavenly Powers is on 8 (21) November. Another feast is on 6 (19) September.

T is a Heavenly Host at the sides. Three Seraphs are depicted below.

The God Father is depicted at the top.

Blessed Basil is depicted at the left margin. T are many saints of this name and he can't be identified.

The Holy Martyress Charitina is depicted at the right margin. She

was orphaned in childhood and raised like an actual daughter by the pious Christian Claudius. The young woman was very pretty, very sensible, kind and fervent in faith. She imparted to other people her love for Christ, and she converted many to the way of salvation. During a time of persecution under the emperor Diocletian (284-305), Saint Charitina was subjected to horrible torments for her strong confession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and she died with prayer to the Lord (in the year 304). The feast is on 5 (18) October.

This Russian Orthodox Icon was painted by a modern professional church artist at the Russian town Rybinsk (not far from Moscow ) that is one of the main and oldest centers of the Russian icon painting .

The modern wooden panel was covered with levkas (gesso, special priming). It was covered with leaf gold and then painted with egg tempera . The style is traditional and strictly follows the canons of the icon painting.

Large Size = 12x10.4x1.3 (30.5x26.5x3.3 cm). Weight = 1705 gr.

Certificate of the Ministry of Culture will be included into the shipping.
