On January 6, 1943 the decree of the USSR Supreme Soviet Presidium instituted new insignia for the Red Army personnel- Shoulder-boards. The shoulder-boards served to designate the personnel's military rank and membership in different branches of service. These are the original c.1943 Soviet Red Army Infantry Colonel shoulder-boards in good condition. They are standard size, service, M43, Government Issue shoulder boards.
