RUSSIAN SOVIET ZORKI 4 CAMERA WITH JUPITER 50mm f2 LENS AND CASE I had a recent urge to revisit my youth and buy this Zorki 4 rangefinder 35mm film camera. Unknown to me my wife had also bought me an old Leica from the same era, so this became immediately surplus to requirements, hence the re-sale here on eBay. Zorki 4 camera serial number is: 720331225 (i.e. produced in 1972). Jupiter lens serial number is 0211112 (this is an unusual number as the first 2 digits usually indicate the year of production, but not so in this case. Perhaps of later vintage? Happy to be advised accordingly). I haven't put any film through the camera but my visual inspection indicates that: The shutter appears to work fine at higher shutter speeds but is a little sluggish at lower ones (2nd curtain especially): this could be just age-related and caused through long period of non-use and may improve after repeated actuations? Lens is bright and clear with no scratches haze or fungus, minimal dust Viewfinder is bright and just as I remember as a child The rangefinder mechanism appears to work: the coincidental images align well The shutter blinds appear to be in good order As with most Russian cameras the shutter speed dial settings have been printed, rather than engraved, and so some of the slow printed settings are worn: however, it doesn't take a
