You are looking at a vintage kerosene lantern which was used on the railroad.This lantern is in good condition with the exception of some rust and dust because I am not sure what to clean it with properly. It seems to be complete with the cap, handle, stem to turn the wick and all original glass is intact. The lantern measures 16" tall to the top of the handle and the lamp itself is approx. 10 1/2 inches tall. It is 6 1/2 inches wide at the base. The top of the cap says in raised letters "Dietz Vesta" in an oval and around it is in raised letters also " New York USA", The glass is also imprinted with the same and on the backside is the letters NX encompased by a horseshoe formation Thank you for looking and if you have any questions please email me and I will do my best to answer you.
