Ryukyu Islands, from Scott #44-53, the 1/2 cent through $1.00 currency conversion provisional of 1958. A collection of 85 all-different perforation and paper varieties as listed in the current Scott's Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps & Covers. Of these, 19 are rated as SCARCE and 7 are rated as RARE by the Ryukyu Philatelic Specialist Society (RPSS). Numerous duplicates are also included. This collection represents 85 of the some 150(+) total varieties recognized by both Scott and the RPSS. Each individual stamp has a small pencil notation, generally on the reverse, identifying its particular variety as per the Scott Catalogue listing. A complete itemization of the included varieties may be seen in the third scan. Also included is a set of Shull Speciality pages (the 1st page of the set is shown in the fourth scan) with spaces for all of the Scott listed varieties with exception of the most recently discovered item, the 47N4. Dealer list prices, from the days when several specialist dealers actually stocked these items, is over $895 for just the 19 SCARCE and 7 RARE.
