Circa 1840 Chinese Export Water Pitcher with Original cover in the Orange Sacred Bird and Butterfly Pattern. This bottle measures 15" to the top of the gold on the cover. The base measures 6" in diameter and the bulbous part of the bottle is 8 1/2" in diameter. Covered water bottles went into a water basin and to find complete sets are rare. The bottles are also very thick and heavy; perhaps that is why so many have survived. But most of those don't have the original tops. Excellent Condition and Very Good Quality.
