is a lovely old, circa 1940s statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, larger sized measuring almost 22" tall and standing on a base rectangle 7 by 5 1/2" in size. It is made of solid, hand painted cast chalk and was collected in Western Quebec. Note the beautiful golden tones and the paler warm reds of the robes and the heavy gilding effect around the Heart itself, a distinctive French characteristic in statues such as these. T are two signatures in pencil on the underside of the base, which might indicate previous owners. The statue was long ago donated to a community of nuns and a member of the order has done some re-painting on the grey base ONLY, which apparently was a little worn when they received it, and t are a few inconspicuous resorations on the robe creases,( see for example, photo #3), but in general the staue is graded in very fine condition. The one price includes double boxing and extra packaging for safer shipping of this fragile and heavy religious statue to you.Shipping and Handling costs are included FREE for this purchase if mailed within Canada or the USA.
