This delightful cookie jar which is in the shape of a playful elephant dressed in a sailor type suit with a beanie hat, which is in fact, the lid of the cookie jar. It is perfect for the cookie jar collector. It is a vintage piece by American Bisque, with USA marked on the bottom rim. American Bisque was in production from 1919 to 1973 in Williamstown West Virginia. It has minimal amounts of craze marks on the glaze which is typical for this era. T are no cracks or chips on the inside of the lid or rim. T is one inconspicuous chip on the piece, which is on the bottom surface of the end of the elephant trunk, and not visible unless one is searching for it, and turns the piece nearly upside down. Otherwise it is in very good condition. It stands about 10 inches tall and is 7 1/2 inches in diameter. The vibrant colors are still pleasing have not faded. It should make a great addition to anyone's collection. The reserve is well in line with the $100.00 valuation one finds in most price guides.
