A Sailor’s Garland - Ewan MacColl & A L Lloyd Transaltlantic XTRA 5013 This album of sea songs and shanties was first issued in 1966 and features the singing of Ewan MacColl and A L (Bert) Lloyd, accompanied in lively style by Alf Edwards (concertina) and Dave Swarbrick (fiddle). The lengthy and informative sleeve notes were written by A L Lloyd. This recording, along with Blow Boys Blow, are considered to be among the most influential to the new folk club movement of the 1960s. They are certainly very entertaining and my favourite traditional albums. The LP is in fine, as new, condition and has been played only once (to tape record it when new). There are no marks, fingerprints or scratches to be seen anywhere on the album or the label. The cover is also in fine condition, the seams are tight and there are no scuffs, stickers or writing.
