This listing is for an antique HORACE alto saxophone.
I believe it is from the early 1900's- maybe as late as the 1930's.
The 8 keys are mother of pearl- there is also a thumb spot that is mother of pearl- all in good condition.
The name "HORACE" & "REG. US. PAT. OFF." is etched into it along with some scroll work.
There is a serial number. It is 57095. (Also the letters L P).
The serial number is inscribed in 2 places- on the bottom and on the top piece that detaches.
The brass color is wearing off a bit and there are some scratches, a couple of tiny dings, but no major dents.
One key pad is missing and the others probably need replacing.
I am not an expert on saxophones, so I am selling this lovely instrument "as is".
Please study all the pictures and ask questions if you have any.
It comes in a case, which is also in pretty good condition for its age.
Both latches work.
The case's exterior is most likely leather (with only minor marks- nothing major.). The interior is red velvet.
The handle is possibly bakelite.
That a fabulous antique instrument!
It is quite heavy and it will be carefully packaged.
Shipping cost includes insurance.
