Vintage miniature salesman sample bench type vise, solid oak. I have seen the full size versions of this in my travels to country estate auctions. If you have never seen one, s is how it works on the full size. The operator sits on the bench. His foot presses the pad on the bottom of the arm. This puts pressure on the top clamping in the spoke. This leaves his hands free to shave a spoke to size with a draw knife. Wood pegged, the only metal is a nail replacing the missing height adjustment pin. Overall length is 20 inches by 7 3/4 wide at the legs. Ten inches high. Seat is 5 3/8 wide going down to 2 7/8 by 17 inches long. Edges of the bench are hand carved. Finish is original. Age crack on each end about three inches long. One dollar is built into the shipping to help pay for packing costs. No reserve.Buyer pays shipping and insurance. Insurance is required on this item.
