On the auction block is very rare example of a salesmansample Spark cast iron pot-bellied stove. I have seen these stoves from time to time, indeed a couple are listed on eBay now, but this is the only complete example I have encountered in 45 years of junking and antiquing. Everything is in fine condition on this stove; the top griddle is present and even has its lift-out handle, both doors, upper and lower are in perfect shape and still have working vent sliders. The upper door with the round vent is permanently hinged to the stove, but the lower door with a horizontal vent is a pivot type which lifts off. Handle on the right side operates an interior grate to dump ashes from the upper to lower chamber. Also included is a tiny poker for tending those hot coals. The exhaust pipe which is usually missing from these stoves is made of tin and painted black. It also has a working damper inside the pipe and even has the circular wall plate at the top. You really won't find a finer example of this salesman sample any time soon. Total height of the stove with the chimney is 32 inches, but it detaches for ease of traveling or shipping. Total height of the stove without the chimney pipe is 14 inches. I feel this is priced as a bargain, given the rarity of its complete condition.
