You are viewing a vintage salesman's sample kit for Geneva Kitchens. By the style of the appliances, cabinetry and wallpaper, I think this kit dates from the 1950's, or perhaps a tad before. The kits are in two separate cases. The larger, brown case houses small plastic sinks, double sinks, cabinetry of all kinds, a Refrigerator, stove, and tin litho windows. The largest piece of "furniture" measures about 4-3/8" x 2-1/2", to give you an idea of the size of these pieces. They are made of an early plastic, and most of them are white with either red or black trim. The case is quite full, and so we believe that all the appliances and cabinetry are in the case. In the slip pocket of the case, t is a yellow grid board measuring 11" square, the "Geneva Visualizer", which was used to create the idea of a kitchen using the plastic kitchen pieces. Also in the slip pocket, t is a very old board-type invoice book. The case itself latches well, with handle and hinges intact, but does have some lifting of the outer fabric at the corners (see photos) and a few dings and scuffs -- after all, this was a work tool! The brown case measures about 13-1/2" x 17" x 3-3/4" in size. The black case is a slip case (measuring 15" x 13" x 2-1/2" in size), with lettering on the front "GENEVA KITCHENS". Inside this case are 5 separate folios, No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and one that is not numbered at all. Each folio contains samples of wallpaper, fabric etc., for use with the Visualizer case to "create" the ideal kitchen of the time. Wow! Check out that funky wallpaper!!!! The 5 folios come with their original satin pouch. The case is in good condition, except for the leather has separated at the snap clasp as seen in the photos - the handle is intact. I understand that "walls" come with the Visualizer; however, the owner of this set indicates that the salesman who peddled these kitchen ideas used the Visualizer and the slipcase full of folios (i.e., wallpaper, etc.), when he was selling a new or remodel of a kitchen. It's a funky old set, and must be rather rare, as I can't imagine that t are many like this out t! It's a true blast from the past!!!!
