WHAT A LOVELY PAIR OF MID 18th CENTURY SERVING SPOONS! EACH IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. Also used for supping the soup. And of a very good weight and bottom marked too. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely pair of solid silver large tablespoons of excellent gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear,incredibly so for spoons so old. Their potential uses are many and they are a wonderful lot well worth owning. Each is assayed in London and dated 1767 (year letter m) and they have a maker's mark for very good maker Robert Sallam (RS).His mark is seldom seen. This is a lovely early George III lot and a must have. A really delightful pair! Their length is large at 8.25 inches. These lovely spoons are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Pattern is OLD ENGLISH HANOVERIAN.This is a popular and highly sought after pattern. Weight of actual silver is a sublime 123 grams (3.95 troy ounces),each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is superb and they are of superior quality and condition.The bowls are of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim and tip.Each is engraved with initials to the reverse and always has been,definitely no erasures either. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look. A truly beautiful and most wonderful lot which is way too good to scrap. Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular pattern. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND,DINE IN REAL STYLE!
