SALLIE ELLINGTON MIDDLETON NATURALIST SERIES ART PRINTS Up for auction is a lot of 20 prints from the artist Sallie Ellington Middleton. These are lithographs from a 1974 Accent Series from Sallie Middleton's naturalist collection, depicting wildlife in an extraordinary way, Sallie uses translucent watercolors and living models to gather the most accurate detail and the brightest colors, her works are truly astounding and lifelike. Sallie Middleton passed away in August, 2009, making this series extremely limited and rare, and highly collectible. Each print measures 8" x 10" with titles scripted below and a fine black and ivory pinstripe border around the margins, leaving plenty of room for framing or mattboard. Included in the lot are the following paintings: Appalachian Ruffed Grouse Bobwhite Quail Chipmunk in the Snow Raccoon, Young Red Fox Willet Mallard Box Turtle Carolina Chickadee Robin and Sparrow Great Horned Owl Blue Jay Wood Ducks Yellow Shafted Flicker Young Rabbits in Clover Indigo Bunting Mourning Doves Young Eastern Cottontails Cardinals in Winter Woodchuck Individually, these prints sell for $15-$30 each, depending on the subject.
