Sallie Ann Jarrett Civil War Mascot Lapel Pin Pewter gray Was the loyal mascot of the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteers The card tells the story: "In the spring of 1861, she was "mastered" into the Unit and remained with them through many battles, including Gettysburg. On February 6, 1865, at Hatcher's Run, Virginia, Sallie was struck with a bullet and killed. The 11th Pennsylvania Veterans erected a monument at Gettysburg, in the memory of their fallen comrades, which included a small bronze sculpture of the beloved Sallie." The pin says: SALLIE 11th PA. VOL. INFANTRY The pin has never been worn, and is in excellent condition Thank you for looking and bidding
