This gorgeous German-made Torpedo 18 typewriter comes in the very rare salmon-pink and cream color scheme. When I acquired it several years ago from an Austrian seller, I sat it on the dining room table and just "admired" it for the longest time. Though it's a 1960 model, it looks amazingly "new." As the ph0tos indicate, the paint is pristine and glossy over the entire metal body. Yet, function combines beautifully with art in this beaut -- it's a solid typer from the get-go. Nice crisp elite type. (German keyboard, of course; "main" difference being that the 'y' and 'z' keys are in opposite positions.) The typewriter comes in a stylish, double-zippered gray case which opens to reveal a nifty dust cover with "Torpedo" across it. (Note: There is a small gap in the left zipper at the back side of the case. With patience and persistence, the puller can be guided back onto the zipper and it can then be zipped around to the front. The right zipper at the back has pulled apart from the upper fabric panel for 2+ inches, but still zips. Simply handle with care.) Torpedo, incidentally, was a respected Germany typewriter manufacturer from 1907-1960. Many such machines appear on German ebay, both portables and standards.
