Salt and Pepper Shakers Teapots Guardian Service Hostess Gifts Vintage These wonderful whimsical teapot salt & pepper shakers were gifts for the hostess of a Guardian Service Company party from the 1940's. The shakers have heavy crystal glass bottoms with heavy shiny silver colored metal tops in the shape of teapots. A recent find in a local Ohio antique mall, I could not leave the mall without these two darling shakers. The workmanship is first rate. Whether one collects salt & pepper shakers or wants to reserve for use the pair on a formal dining table, or a gift of a good friend, the pair of shakers are a great vintage buy! The teapot salt & pepper shakers are 3 1/ 4 inches high by 3 inches wide including the handle and spout. Condition: The glass bottoms to the shakers are in great condition without damage - no chips or cracks. The heavy metal tops are also without damages - no dings or dents. The shiny finish to the metal is starting to peel off. On one shaker maybe 25% of the finish has peeled off, and the second shaker maybe 10% of the finish has peeled off. The tops screw on and off easily. The insides of both shakers are clean and not cloudy. The shakers conditions are so good, that I wonder if the pair were ever used as salt & pepper shakers.
