Sam Houston Signed 1836 Document Texas Republic Framed SAM HOUSTON DOCUMENT Sam Houston 1836 signed document as President of the Republic of Texas (REPRINT). Distinctive hand written and printed document with large Sam Houston signature, document reads: "To all to whom these presents shall come. Be it know That I, Sam. Houston, President of the Republic of Texas, by virtue of the authority vested in me by joint resolution of both houses of Congress, and passed into law on the tenth day of December, (1836)...which authorizes and requires met to issue to Thomas Toby, of New Orleans, Land Scrip to the amount of (500,000_ acres, as recognised the Agent of this Republic, and in the discharge and fulfillment of obligations attendant ton. Tfore, I, Sam. Houston...Do declare that Thomas Toby of the City of New Orleans, State of Louisiana or his Legal representatives, are entitled to (604) acres of the public domain of Texas, agreeably to the following conditions...That no preference shall be given to any person or person who may have hitherto obtained Lands form the Government of Texas... the hold of this scrip shall receive his title without any other expense than the purchase money... in order to hold lands by virtue of this Scrip, a residence in Texas shall not be necessary...
